Steve Dale

Steve Dale, pet expert and certified dog and cat behavior consultant, reaches more pet owners than any other pet journalist in America.

Steve writes a twice weekly syndicated newspaper column (Tribune Media Services), he’s a contributing editor at USA Weekend, special correspondent Cat Fancy, and host of two nationally syndicated radio shows, Steve Dale’s Pet World and The Pet Minute as well as Pet Central on WGN Radio, Chicago.

Steve’s appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show, National Geographic Explorer, Pets Part of the Family on PBS, the Fox News Channel and various Animal Planet Shows. He was a regular on WGN-TV Chicago, and is always available to appear on national TV. He’s hosted many national TV and radio satellite tours.

Frequently sought after for his expertise and passionate views, he’s a frequent guest on radio talk shows, and is often quoted in print, including USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Redbook and veterinary publications. He’s a regular speaker at veterinary and humane conferences.

Steve edits Pawprints, a newsletter for veterinarians. He serves on several Boards of Directors including the American Humane Association. His books include American Zoos and DogGone Chicago. Steve’s many awards include the distinguished AVMA Humane Award.

Following the pet food recall crisis of last year, on Sunday (April 26) on Pet Central, Steve follows up as he promised he would. He speaks with Illinois Senator Dick Durbin about whether pet food is safe, or not. And about what the FDA would do differently today if another crisis occured.
