Another Family Tragedy: Travolta's Dog's Killed
Share
Just over a year after actors John Travolta and Kelly Preston’s son Jett died in the Bahama’s, on May 13 the family’s dogs were killed in an accident at the Bangor International Airport in Maine. Local published reports indicate the two small dogs were somehow killed on the tarmac.
The City released this comment, “At approximately 1 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010, an airplane
carrying members of the John Travolta family landed at BIA. While
there, two small dogs were taken for a walk by someone who is not a
family member. An airport service pickup truck was approaching the
airplane to service the airplane and did not see the dogs.
Unfortunately, the dogs were struck and killed. The airport is
investigating the accident. Out of respect for the family’s privacy the
city will make no further comment.”
Travolta and Preston own a home on Islesboro, off the coast of Waldo County, and the family likely was headed there after landing. It wasn’t clear how many people were traveling with Travola and Preston, or if the actor – and accomplished pilot – was flying the plane. Details about the dogs, their names, breed(s) or ages are unknown. Ironically, Travolta’s most recent film was called “Old Dogs.” No word on whether any charges will be filed.
