AVMA New Year's Resolutions


Dr. Joe Kinnarney, immediate past president of the American Veterinary Medical Association offers his New Year’s Resolutions for pets for 2017.

Dr. Kinnarney has a crystal ball (who doesn’t) and offers what he alone can see on my national Steve Dale’s Pet World Radio show HERE.

  1. Dealing with overweight and obese pets – which are about half of all dogs and cats. And the result are medical problems caused or made worse by overweight and obese pets. Kinnarney says walk your pet for your health and your pet’s health.
  2. More and consistent preventative health care, or check-ups. We can prevent disease and discover them earlier with check-ups.
  3. Having a pet is good for all of us, and so are the benefits of the human-animal bond.
