Bark in the Park for Anti Cruelty Society
Bark in the Park to benefit the Anti Cruelty Society of Chicago is May 21, with the 5K walk kicking off at 10 am (and goes until 2 p.m.) at Soldier Field on the Green (a grassy area adjacent to Soldier Field).
If it wasn’t for other open admission shelters, like Anti Cruelty and Animal Welfare League of Chicago – Chicago Animal Care & Control would be even more overburdened than they are now. Having said that, the good news is that (aside from pit bull-type dogs) the shelters are no longer overwhelmed in the same way as 20 years ago, but much better.
Dave gives a shout out to Safe Humane Chicago’s Court Advocacy Program, demonstrating that people are behind the dogs and not those who abuse dogs.
Bark in the Park is celebrating their 23rd year – and for the first time ever, there will be beer! And more events for people and dogs to do than ever before. And the walk requires a camera, so you can take postcard photos along the lakefront. By the way, if you don’t
At noon there will be live blue music (to go with that beer).
Also, there to emcee with me – Hosea Sanders and Roz Varon of WLS-TV and Bart Shore of WLIT radio.
Remember, all proceeds benefit The Anti-Cruelty Society and help us care for nearly 20,000 animals each year!
