Celebrating Military Working Dogs on Veteran's Day

Please do not forget the military working dogs on Veteran’s Day. Thousands of dogs have given their lives for America. And many many more thousands of human lives have been saved.  One veteran in this video says, “My guardian angel.”  We don’t know how many veterans from World Wars I and II, Vietnam, Dessert Storm and far more recent events are alive today because of military working dogs.

Finally, after years of going unrecognized, there are statues in their honor.

On Veteran’s Day we should remember all veterans who have made it home, all veterans working in operations or serving currently, and most importantly those who have given their lives for our nation. All veterans includes canines.

Regarding mine detecting dogs, one U.S. Army General once told me, “For all the millions of dollars we’ve spent on equipment to detect mines, we will never be able to replace the loyalty and ability of the dog.”

I cried when I watched this video – tears of appreciation. I hope you take a few minutes to watch, and appreciate ALL veterans.
