Chicago Animal Care & Control Pet Adoption Events, Starting at WGN Radio

Steve Cochran and Steve Dale pair up to adopt Charlie, a 9-pound buff-colored male neutered Chihuahua from Chicago Animal Care & Control. On Tuesday March 23, 8:35AM CDT on WGN Radio. This pup can be yours. Listen at here, or at 720AM.

Charlie, who is only a few years old,  is neutered and up-to-date on all of his vaccinations. All he needs is someone to give him a new start on life. He is good-natured pup, and gets along great with children and others, but on March 9th his family relinquished him to Chicago Animal Care & Control because they are moving. That’s sad. It will be good to find a family who will make the commitment this little dude deserves.

Also, on Thursday, April 23 Friends of Chicago Animal Care & Control and Chicago Animal Care & Control are teaming up for a sweet deal – free microchipping, and 1/2 price Chicago Mix or Chicago Chip ice cream at the iconic Original Rainbow Cone, 9225 S. Western Avenue. This may be the world’s first microchipping event held at an ice-cream shop, from 1 to 3 p.m. Of course, all pets (dogs and cats) should be microchipped.  Do bring your dog for a microchip on-leash, and bring your cat in a carrier. No leash or carrier required for humans who want ice-cream.

Get your bunny on. On March 28, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Animal Care & Control is participating in HOP around the SHOPS, in Wrigleyville on Southport Avenue between Roscoe and Grace Streets. Lots of retailers are offering samples, and coupons, and the event – geared to families – offers lots of kid activities. Also with available dogs to adopt, from Chicago Canine Rescue, the Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago and Don’t Bully My Breed.

Animal Care & Control continues their Spring fling on April 4, pairing with PAWS Chicago, and a special Bully Breed Adoption Event, Saturday April 4, noon to 3 p.m. at the Double Door (1572 N. Milwaukee Ave.) You can meet American Pickers star Danielle Colby and her Paws Bully Breed alum Vida. Admission is free.
