Free Willy: He Needs A Home on WGN Radio

Share

I am pretty sure our dog adoption number is at 15, meaning 15 successful consecutive dog adoptions on WGN Radio with Steve Cochran. Listen Monday, April 17, at 9:05 a.m. CDT on 720AM or here as we hopefully adopt number 16.

Monday will be a challenge, so we need help to spread the word. Older dogs are always more difficult to adopt, and so are pitties. Willy is a 9-year-old presumed pit bull/Labrador retriever mix from the Anti-Cruelty Society. He’s a great guy with a sad story: His person became ill and could no longer keep Willy.

Willy didn’t live with any children, but the grandkids would visit, and he liked to play with them. He would occasionally jump on them (in a friendly way), but behaved well with them overall. And Willy comes pre-educated, as he knows “sit” and “down.” And he may know the secret to your heart, if you open your heart to this gentle older guy. So far, he’s been just fine with other dogs.

Help us to free Willy from the Anti Cruelty Society, not that being cared for at the city’s oldest animal shelter is all bad.

Steve Dale and Steve Cochran on pet adoption for Anti Cruelty and Bark in the Park on WGN RadioThe 23rd Annual Bark in the Park is the biggest annual fundraiser for the shelter, and it’s around the corner, on May 21 at 10 a.m. at Soldier Field on the Green (adjacent to Soldier Field), off Lake Shore Drive.

Christine Natarelli, Anti-Cruelty events manager, will join us on air to talk about this special event, which I have co-emceed for many years. Christine no doubt will speak about how all animal shelters require dollars to support veterinary care animals require, and to feed the animals housed there. But Anti Cruelty offers a myriad programs to the community, and they require your financial support to continue.
