Hey Fauci, Fauci: Pandemic Pet Names

“Here Fauci, Fauci”

Fauci is the most popular pandemic pet name.

Sometime soon Dr. Tony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease will be running down the street (he’s a jogger) and hear someone calling “Hey Fauci,” and they will mean their dog.

Millions of pets are celebrating the pandemic, as adoptions and fosters are way up. And many of those pets have been given new Pandemic pet names.

Popular choices include

  • Corona (for the beer or the virus, unsure?)
  • Tina (short for quarantine)
  • Zoom
  • Covie (for COVID-19)
  • Q (for Quarantine)
  • Panda (for Pandemic)

With pandemic baking on the rise, no surprise contemporary names include

  • Chocolate chip
  • Hershey
  • Cupcake
  • Cookie
  • Banana (presumably as in banana bread)

And pandemic pursuit is Happy Hour. And indeed popular new pet names also reflect this routine, and include:

  • Merlot
  • Cabby (as in Cabernet)
  • Champaign
  • Guinness
  • Margarita

According to Reader’s Digest, here are six more unique names:

  • Cyrus
  • Panda
  • Rona
  • Hoarder
  • Hugger
  • Vax or Vaxine
