Kids Read to Dogs: Sit, Stay, Read
The best reading tutors ever may be dogs. Sit, Stay, Read brings specially trained dogs (and their handlers) together with children who need help with reading skills. More than solely supporting effective measurable improvements in their reading, dogs boost confidence. Also, the kids learn about humane education. Kids that are more humane to animals, might be kinder to one another.
On March 27, I have the honor of emceeing the Bark ‘n Ball benefit at the Hotel Palomar (505 N. State St.), starting 6:30 p.m. Honorees are Chicago City Clerk Susana Mendoza – for her passionate support of Chicago Companion Animal & Consumer Protection Ordinance – and also featuring special guest, Fifty the two-legged pit bull.
Most tickets are $110. For an extra $50 you can bring your dog (on-leash). Click HERE for tickets.
