Wallet Hub has released their listing of their pet friendliest cities, taking many factors into consideration. Most people in America have a pet, and the overwhelming majority (generally over 90 percent) consider pets members of their families. The American Pet Products Association projects that in 2020, pet ownership will cost Americans $99 billion. With pet adoptions on the rise, there’s no doubt pets are recession proof as well as now pandemic proof.
For example, in 2019, the pet food industry reached a $97 billion global value. There are also new ways to buy goods for your animal, such as monthly subscription boxes, which are a hit, especially among millennials.
