Veterinarian and Physician On STOP LYME
Dogs and kids do go together like peanut butter and jelly…Indeed, if a dog is out playing and is later diagnosed with Lyme disease (or any other tick disease), children in particular (or anyone at the other end of that leash) sharing that same environment was potentially exposed as well.
Not believing there’s enough real awareness regarding Lyme (and other tick diseases), and specifically prevention – I began a campaign with veterinarians and human physicians….a partnership with the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Global Lyme Alliance – called STOP LYME. Dr. Natalie Marks, a Chicago veterinarian and Dr. Patrica De LaMora, a pediatrician and infectious disease specialist paired up to discuss Lyme and tick disease in pets and people, and great strategies to avoid it.
