World's Tallest Cow an Illinois Resident

This cow is so tall – she can walk over the moon, and doesn’t need to jump over.

October 13 the Guinness Book of World Record confirmed that Blossom, an Illinois resident, is the world’s tallest cow. Taller than many people, Blossom is 6 feet, four inches. She weighs over 2,000 lbs. but her owner, Patricia Meade Hanson, says she’s a “gentle giant.”

Hanson says, “When I put Blosom’s halter on, she knows it’s time to go to work greeting people, and one of the best things I love about this big cow is she makes people smile. But now when I get to tell them they are looking at the world’s tallest cow.”

Hanson got Blosom when she was a calf and eventually decided to keep her as a pet. She turned 13 in July.

So far, no word from Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn on Illinois’ latest celebrity.
